Argh! 404 page not found error :(

Hey guys,

Sorry to have to say this but this 404 Page not Found error is proving to be a major headache. It seems to happen on every 2nd (or so) page save and is just making Harmony virtually unusable.

Safari 5.0.2 on Mac.

   Thanks. Yes it is with WYSIWYG.

   I have/had a theory that it might occur after using a keyboard command like command-N or command-tab but not sure. I often flick between tabs, windows and apps using the keyboard while editing a page so perhaps that's screwing up the javascript. But haven't proven it to be the case. It's difficult to replicate when I want to!

   Is there a specific page that this is happening on? Or any of them? I want to see if it's anything on that page, I can't replicate it locally for anything...

   It's happening on the www.luciddesign.co.nz site and I've been experiencing it when editing pages that use the blog.post template.

   My guess is that it bumps to a 404 when there's a javascript error on something beforehand. Can you keep an eye on your JS console in Safari and see if you see anything unusual while editing a page. I can't get it to replicate even on your site with Safari 5.

   I get this error for starters:

   Failed to load resource: cancelled    /admin/javascripts/uploadify/uploadify.swf

   And, ah ha!, I get the following:

   TypeError: Result of expression 'g.win.document' [undefined] is not an object.

   It has more detail but I can't seem to view the error once the 404 page loads. Is there a way to view past browser errors in Safari?

   So this tells me there's something going on with the internals of the editor. I'll look and see if there are any version upgrades or patches and let you know what I find.

    So we just pushed out a big code update (rails3 migration) which I think will help this problem, at least. I'm really sorry it's taken us this long to bury into it, but it's a really tricky bug, apparently. Do let me know if this bug continues to happen, and if it does, I'll look into a total replacement of the WYSIWYG as a last resort.
