I don't get it.. I can't add page content?

Whenever I go to manage content, and click on a page I created, I see title and permalink, but there is no "content" section, and thus, no textarea to type in.

I've viewed the tutorial http://docs.harmonyapp.com/managing-content/ and the screen in the tutorial doesn't match what I see.

I get the same effect in safari and firefox.

You need to add data fields to the template that page is using (or select a new template).

    Look here: http://docs.harmonyapp.com/creating-a-theme/

One of the nice things about Harmony is that your templates can have as many or as few data fields as you want. If you only want a "Body" textarea, you can do that. If you want something more complex, you can do that too.

Are all my templates supposed to start off empty?

If you start with a blank theme, yes, they will. The blank theme is intended to be a raw starting point, from which you will define what data to collect, and then where to place that data in your markup.

When you create a new site, you'll have the option to start with a blank theme, or to copy an existing theme from one of your sites. If it's easier for you, you can setup one theme as your 'starting point' with basic data, markup, and styles, and then duplicate that theme for new sites to get you started.

I would recommend creating the sample site if you haven't already. There is
a link in the welcome email. That usually helps everyone a lot.

I think it'd make more sense if the sample site or default layouts were there the first time you log in.

"See, it does something!" is much more helpful than an empty page that does nothing, even if that something isn't what you want... at least the first time around.

Sorry, yeah, most people started with the sample site so they did have
something. I agree that our blank slate is confusing sometimes. We have been
    wanting to rethink it.

I was also quite confused by this. It would be awesome to have a basic shell theme with a mostly standard configuration (simple summary/body field, menu, etc). Obviously it won't work for all projects, but it would be a much easier starting point than starting from scratch.

We do plan on having a base theme that's similar to the Sample Site theme, though we're hoping that the Sample Site gives some direction in this area. We could also add a brief explanation sentence to the page content area if the current template has no fields with some direction on how to add them in the themes area.

Cool - is there a way I can copy the Sample Site theme?

I deleted the example site created when I created my Harmony account -- which in hindsight wasn't so smart -- and now I can't copy it. I'd love to use it as a starting point again.

You can recreate your sample site by visiting harmonyapp.com/admin/welcome and clicking start exploring. I would always leave a copy of the sample site hanging around.

Once you regenerate the sample site, you can copy a theme from another site when you create the site or when you create a new theme.
