Ability to specify template for children
It would make it MUCH easier for a client if we could specify in the Page Information panel what template a page's children are to use.
Otherwise, we have to instruct users which templates to use for, say, the images in a gallery or the articles in a blog.
Does that make sense?

Harmony selects the template for a new page (or post) based on its siblings, and whats the most popular template. Does that not work for your needs?

What if there aren't yet any siblings?

True, if there are no siblings, it will default to the base template for that item type (page, blog_post, etc.) John and I will chat about what you suggested. Thanks for letting us know!

Basically, our situation is that we've set up the full structure for a
fairly complex site (http://timberworks.harmonyapp.com). All the pages use
the same template except the final image page in the image galleries (we
wouldn't need to do this actually if we could have 1–n file attachments in a
template).
Anyway, we've set up each gallery in the CMS but our client needs to add a
child page for each image in the gallery. It's a bit of a pain for us to
have to set up one dummy child page for each gallery so that they don't have
to change the template.
Does that make sense?
Cheers,
Galen

Yep, understood. As always, thanks for the feedback and such detailed use case examples. :)

I'm creating an issue for us to get this done in the future and closing this conversation.
