I would like to add explanations to templates.
Just like each piece of template data can have some help text, I would like to have place to give an in depth explanation of the template.
This would be very helpful in educated my users!

Are you meaning on each template form to have a place to describe certain areas, or in the list of templates, some text to describe them?

The place I would like it to show up is when a user is adding a page and they select the "product" template. I would like to give some explanation about how use it.
An example would be "to add multiple images to this product create a page under it with a template of product_image".

Sure. One thing we discussed was a 'Description' type of template data that you could add anywhere in your template data. It wouldn't be a form field, just a place for some text to help instruct people using the content management interface.
